TOM SCOTT NEW ZEALAND
Renowned cartoonist Tom Scott is the editorial cartoonist for the Dominion Post and the author of the Ockham NZ Book Awards shortlisted memoir Drawn Out. He wrote the play The Daylight Athiest as well as drama and documentary programmes on Sir Edmund Hillary.
MARIE SHANNON NEW ZEALAND
Auckland-based artist Marie Shannon works with photography, video and drawing. She created a series of video and text works that featured in her recent exhibition at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, Rooms Found only in the Home.
NEIL SILVERWOOD NEW ZEALAND
Neil Silverwood specialises in
nature photography and contributes regularly to a range of magazines. With Marcus Thomas he co-authored Caves: Exploring New Zealand's Subterranean Wilderness, for which
he won the 2017 New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the
Year Award.

PHILIP SIMPSON NEW ZEALAND
Botanist Philip Simpson is the author of books including Dancing Leaves: The Story of New Zealand’s Cabbage Tree Tı- Ko-uka and Pohutukawa and Rata: NZ’s Iron-hearted Trees. His book To-tara: a natural and cultural history is shortlisted for the Ockham NZ Book Awards.
JOHN SINCLAIR NEW ZEALAND
John Sinclair has worked as a political speechwriter, treasury of cial, public policy consultant, company director and yoga teacher. He coordinates volunteer literacy tutors and teaches yoga at Mt Eden Prison. His novel The Phoenix Song was broadcast on RNZ
in 2017.
DAVID SLACK NEW ZEALAND
Author, satirist, public speaker and broadcaster, David Slack is a regular contributor to RNZ’s The Panel and TV One’s Breakfast programme and a Sunday Star Times columnist. He was a former speechwriter in the Prime Minister’s Department. @DavidSlack
ELIZABETH SMITHER NEW ZEALAND
Poet, novelist and short story writer Elizabeth Smither MNZM has received multiple awards for her writing including the Prime Minister’s Award for Literary Achievement in 2008. Night Horse is her 18th collection of poetry and is shortlisted for the 2018 Ockham NZ Book Awards.
ALICE SNEDDEN NEW ZEALAND
Alice Snedden is a comedian, writer and improviser who trained and performed at New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She is a writer and performer on Three’s Funny Girls and Jono and Ben, is co-host with Rose Matafeo of the Boners of the Heart podcast series. @AliceSnedden
ZARA STANHOPE NEW ZEALAND
Curator Zara Stanhope, ex Auckland Art Gallery and now at Queensland Art Gallery, was Commissioning Editor of Gordon Walters: New Vision, with co-editors Lucy Hammonds, Laurence Simmons and Julia Waite. The book is shortlisted for the 2018 Ockham NZ Book Awards.
