58. THE EXPATS

Martin Edmond (creative non-fiction writer), Anthony McCarten (novelist) and Anne Kennedy (poet) have a lot in common: New Zealanders who have cast off for other shores and established writing lives in Australia, London and Hawai’i respectively, they’ve also ranged outside their primary genres, particularly into film where all have accomplished resumes. 

They read from their work and talk with Peter Wells about how much ‘New Zealand-ness’ remains a part of the fabric of their writing endeavours, and the ways in which script writing differs from their other pursuits.
