Asia New Zealand Foundation is proud to support the participation of Chandran Nair, author of Asia’s role in Reshaping Capitalism and Saving the Planet, in the 2012 Auckland Writers & Readers Festival. A second-generation Indian-origin Malaysian based out of Hong Kong, Chandran Nair has been a leading advocate for a more sustainable approach to development in Asia. Thanks to the Readers and Writers Festival, his timely message will inform discussion of environmental issues in New Zealand. We wish the Festival every success'. Jennifer King, Director of Culture.
APRA are delighted to be involved with the Auckland Writers & Readers Festival for the fifth year with the 'Songwriters Speak' sessions. APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association Limited) was established in 1926 and now administers the performing and communication rights of 60,000+ composer, songwriter and music publisher members in New Zealand and Australia.
APRA works to ensure composers/songwriters and publishers are rewarded whenever, and wherever, their musical works are played, performed or reproduced. Through the 'Songwriters Speak' sessions you will hear first hand the stories behind songs, and how the songwriters create their music and lyrics.
