David Farrier is the Technology and Entertainment journalist for TV3’s 'News’ and 'Nightline’. He also writes for Rip It Up, and since October 2009 has been co-hosting a Cryptozoology themed radio show, ‘The Cryptid Factor’, with Rhys Darby and Leon ‘Buttons’. It can be heard on bFM (9-11am Sundays).
'"The Cryptid Factor” is a show about cryptids … animals unknown to science like the Yeti, Loch Ness monster and the Mongolian Death Worm. It’s an area of obsession for both Rhys and myself and we’re both mutually tickled we’ve met someone else who’s into it.’
In August 2009, he self-funded an expedition to the Gobi Desert to make a documentary about the Mongolian Death Worm. He and cameraman Christie Douglas spent about two weeks trying to verify the death worm’s existence but the only thing they will say for certain is that they will get a documentary out of their adventures. David lives in Auckland.
