Martin Hirst joined the School of Communication Studies at AUT University in 2007. He had a teaching and research career in Australian journalism education, and was a radio and TV journalist for the ABC and SBS. He is currently working on a new book tentatively titled News 2.0: Can Journalism Survive the Internet?
