Owen Marshall is a critically acclaimed South Island writer who has written, or edited, 23 books. The University of Canterbury, where he is adjunct professor, awarded him the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters. He has held the Katherine Mansfield Memorial Fellowship in Menton, France. His novel Harlequin Rex won the Deutz Medal for Fiction at the 2000 Montana New Zealand Book Awards. Owen Marshall’s Selected Stories (2008), is his latest book.
