Sri Lanka Divided: Samanth Subramanian (2016)

A forensic account of Sri Lanka’s 25-year civil war told by one of India’s most talented writers, Samanth Subramanian, This Divided Island was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction in 2015. The witty and urbane Subramanian, writer for The New Yorker, amongst other publications, brings his journalistic rigour to bear on the story of a little reported conflict that forever marked the lives of those caught up in it. In conversation with Steve Toussaint.
