The Auckland Writers Festival is a charitable trust which presents New Zealand's largest international festival of literature and ideas. Committed to ensuring that the world of books and ideas remains accessible, vibrant and relevant, each year we present more than 220 writers and thinkers from around the world in more than 200 stimulating public events, with an annual attendance of 80,000+ in 2025.

Your support is vital so we can continue to deliver the very best writers, the most provocative ideas, the widest ranging events and the strongest Schools Programme possible to New Zealanders. Free events make up 25% of our programme each year, making the Festival accessible for all.

We are a small team with great ambitions to shape the next exciting era for the Festival. We need your help to keep doing what we do and to present the Festival you love.

One Time Donation

All donors will receive a receipt that will support a tax credit claim for the amount donated. This will be issued by Auckland Writers Festival Waituhi o Tāmaki within 5 days of the donation.

Monthly Donation

All donors will receive a receipt that will support a tax credit claim for the amount donated between 1 September to 31 August annually. This will be issued by Auckland Writers Festival Waituhi o Tāmaki within 7 days of 31 August each year.
