A VERY MODERN DIARY
With notable exceptions, diaries of the past were in the main private, for the writer’s eyes only, oft hidden away in locked drawers. In recent years, however, public disclosures of intimacies have become de rigueur. Is this documenting of personal experience a means of connection in an alienating world, a case of oversharing, or just plain solipsism? Three writers of revelatory work discuss the merits of this modern phenomenon. Join Adam Dudding, the Iranian born, US-based Porochista Khakpour, and Michele Powles in conversation with Sarah Lang.
Due to ill health, Porochista Khakpour is no longer able to attend the Festival, she will be replaced by Michelle Langstone in this session.
