Event 105 - CANCELLED

Two recent essay collections from two Wellington writers generations apart give an intimate window into NZ Aotearoa’s past and present, and the seismic social and cultural shifts that have occurred between. In Someone’s Wife: a memoir of sorts Linda Burgess writes beguilingly of growing up in the provinces, touring with her All Black husband Robert in the 1970s, and the death of their child. In All Who Live on Islands Rose Lu writes illuminatingly of growing up a Chinese NZer, of shopping trips with her Shanghai-born grandparents, of her career as a software developer. For a consideration of where we are at and how we got here, join them in conversation with Nic Low.
