Event 68

The productivity of writer and teacher Paula Morris (Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Whātua) is legendary – from her short story and essay collection False River, to her award winning novel Rangatira and four American YA novels, to her teaching on The University of Auckland’s creative writing programme, the founding of the Academy of NZ Literature, her mentoring work with schools in South Auckland, and her involvement with the Michael King Writers’ Centre and the NZ Book Awards’ Trust and Māori Literature Trust. Morris pauses to talk about her work, the state of the local publishing industry and her hopes for the future with Finlay Macdonald.
