LEAVE NO FOOTPRINTS: REBECCA PRIESTLEY & COLIN THUBRON

The act of touring and travelling has always presented ethical dilemmas, more so now in the days of catastrophic climate change and flight shaming. Rebecca Priestley, author of the deft Ockham NZ Book Awards longlisted eco-memoir Fifteen Million Years in Antarctica and winner of the 2016 Prime Minister’s Science Communication Prize joins Colin Thubron, one of The Times 50 greatest post-war British writers and author of the travel books Among the Russians and Shadow of the Silk Road, to discuss the responsibilities of being in others’ lands and telling others’ stories – and whether we should leave home at all. Chaired by Mary de Ruyter.
