Event 65 - CANCELLED

The pleasures of reading Patrick Gale are myriad – stories beautifully written, elegantly told, and infused with his ‘abiding fascination… with what goes on under the human bonnet’. He is the author of 16 novels, four of which have been Sunday Times bestsellers, including the autobiographical Rough Music, A Place Called Winter and his latest, Take Nothing With You, an elegiac story of coming of age and the transformative power of music. His Emmy Award winning television drama Man in an Orange Shirt was the centrepiece of the BBC’s 2017 Gay Britannia season. Gale is an accomplished cellist, gardener and baker (with an interest, he says, in the link between sugar and power), and the artistic director of the North Cornwall Book Festival. In conversation with Michelle Langstone.
