POETS OF THE PEOPLE
Bob Orr and Jeffrey Paparoa Holman are poets of the people. Orr, who first wrote verse when he was 12, has recently published his seventh poetry collection One Hundred Poems and A Year. He has worked at the freezing works, at the racecourse, and at the port. Holman has just written Now When It Rains, a memoir which sits alongside his non-fiction writing and several poetry collections. He came to writing late, after stints as a shearer, postman, social worker and bookseller. They talk with Siobhan Harvey on their writing and their working lives.
