A beacon in Australia’s literary scene, Alex Miller has authored 12 novels and numerous essays and short stories, collecting the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize as well as the Miles Franklin Literary Award along the way. His work investigates art, creativity, love and passion and is notable for its finely drawn characterisations and beautifully crafted prose. Miller says of his latest, the autobiographical novel The Passage of Love, that it is his “opportunity in old age to review my life and to celebrate the lives of loved ones, and to do this in the form of story.” He reflects on his life and writing with Michelle Langstone.
