WRITERS ON FILM: MARGARET MAHY

In the beautifully crafted and zany 2008 documentary A Tall Long Faced Tale, directed by Yvonne Mackay, national treasure Margaret Mahy (1936-2012) is interviewed by the award-winning writer Elizabeth Knox, as well as by animated versions of characters from her body of work that includes The Lion in the Meadow; The Witch in the Cherry Tree; and The Great White Man Eating Shark. Interviews with Mahy’s collaborators – Quentin Blake among them – also feature.
