Annette Lees has a Master of Science in landscape conservation and ecology and is the author of the 2022 Ockham NZ Book Awards-longlisted After Dark: Walking into the Nights of Aotearoa and Swim: A Year of Swimming Outdoors in New Zealand, as well as The Deep Sky Waits on the Outskirts of Town.
