Wildlife ecologist and consultant herpetologist Dylan van Winkel is co-author, with Marleen Baling, and Rod Hitchmough, of Reptiles and Amphibians of New Zealand. He is a technical advisor to the Ministry for Primary Industries and works for Bioresearches Group Ltd.
