Emma Sky first travelled to Iraq in 2003 to apologise to Iraqis for the war and help them rebuild their country. She went on to become political advisor to a top American general. She is currently the director of Yale University’s World Fellows programme and lectures on Middle East politics. Sky’s book The Unravelling: High Hopes and Missed Opportunities in Iraq (2015) was shortlisted for the prestigious Samuel Johnson Prize.
