Auckland Writers Festival Schools Programme 2019
Proudly supported by Freemasons Foundation

Joanna Grochowicz has written two spell-binding books of narrative non-fiction capturing the stories of our Antarctic heroes. Hailed as “meticulously researched and compellingly told”, her debut novel Into the White: Scott’s Antarctic Odyssey, was a finalist in the 2018 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults. Her second, Amundsen’s Way, vividly captures the brilliance and ruthlessness of Roald Amundsen. Joanna shares tales of icy adventure, hardship and resilience, celebrating the majesty of the great Continent as well as the daring individuals who battled its elements.
