From the metaphorical to the sentient to more everyday encounters, plants are often powerful symbols in poetry. Creative writing teacher Helen Lehndorf is the author of the memoir A Forager’s Life, as well as poetry collection The Comforter and a book about journaling, Write to the Centre. She will present a series of poems featuring plants as powerful metaphors or characters, and then using plants that are personally meaningful, participants will launch into writing some plant-inspired poetry
