Event 67

Building on the wisdom of the past and looking long into the future, in 2017 a group of rangatahi set out on an extraordinary project to interview one hundred Māori with a record of service to others. Inspired by the work of Te Rangikāheke who, in 1850, wrote about the attributes of effective leadership, the result is the stunning Te Kai a te Rangatira, a book and a larger project including photography, writing, videography and more. Life-changing for all involved, we celebrate this kaupapa and its transformative power with editors Rawiri J Tapiata, Marcus Akuhata-Brown and Renee Smith, and some of the rangatahi building this kete of wisdom.
