WORKSHOP: ANDREW O'HAGAN- UNPICKING THE ESSAY
To some readers, the essay is the perfect literary form. But what is it exactly? How personal should it be? What degree of research does it require? Thrice Booker-Prize nominated Scottish writer Andrew O’Hagan has been described by the New York Times as “the best essayist of his generation”, and has published over 300 essays in such publications as the London Review of Books, The Guardian, and the New Yorker. Addressing these questions, he will take attendees on a journey into what they might do when sitting down to write an essay. Pre-masterclass reading will be circulated in April.
