I'm a Sāmoan/Chinese/Pākehā writer based in Tāmaki Makaurau. I had a very vibrant and supportive upbringing in a family of ten. I first started writing screenplays as a teenager and then transitioned to writing books, loving the boundary-free landscape of prose. I’ve been a filmmaker, nanny, private tutor, sports coach, and GirlGuides leader. The children and teens I work with have been a huge inspiration for my stories. Their overwhelming love and support for my work gave me the courage to submit to publishers. I’ve recently completed a Bachelor of Education and now teach English at Auckland Girls’ Grammar School. I’m excited to share my passion for writing and storytelling with the students there. Lonasei and the Mystery of Origin Grove is my first novel, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to share it with the world.
