Lucy Hone

Dr Lucy Hone is an award-winning academic researcher, bestselling author and internationally sought-after speaker whose work reshapes how we think about change and loss. Her expertise in resilience psychology was tested in the most personal way when her twelve-year-old daughter was killed in a tragic accident. She went on to write Resilient Grieving (2017), now widely read around the world, and her forthcoming book How Will I Ever Get Through This? (Feb 2026, Aus/NZ) explores the hidden grief of “living losses” such as divorce, illness, infertility, estrangement and redundancy. Her TED talk, Three Secrets of Resilient People (recently ranked among the Top 100 TED talks of all time) has reached millions globally. Featured in The New York Times, Oprah Daily, BBC and the Washington Post, she works with organisations from Apple and Amazon to Hospice and the United Nations, helping people find their way through tough times with clarity, compassion and courage.
