TONGA/ AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND

Mele Peaua migrated from Tonga at the age of 19, starting work as a cleaner the day she arrived and continuing to do so more than 30 years later. She is a contributor to Somewhere a Cleaner, an anthology of poetry and prose by 93 New Zealanders who have worked as, or still are, cleaners.
