Poet Choman Hardi went to England as a refugee in 1993 and was educated at Oxford, London and Kent Universities before returning to Kurdistan to teach Literature and Gender Studies. Lucinda Hawksley is an author and broadcaster, and the great-great-
great granddaughter of Charles Dickens. Her writing subjects include biography, social history, feminism, travel and art history and she is the author of Moustaches, Whiskers and Beards, a history of facial hair through portraiture.
