Award winning journalist Samanth Subramanian writes about South Asian politics, culture and history for publications including The New Yorker and The New York Times. His book Following Fish: Travels Around the Indian Coast (2010) won the 2010 Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize and his next, This Divided Island (2015), about Sri Lanka’s civil war, was shortlisted for the prestigious Samuel Johnson Prize.
