One of this country’s most outstanding poets, Karlo is Tongan and Pakeha- with ancestral links to Samoa. Born in Aotearoa, Karlo Mila has performed locally and internationally and had her work taught in schools and universities across the Pacific. The Goddess Muscle is her third volume of poetry, a writing journey that started when she wrote her first poem at age eight. She celebrates her Pasifika heritage and the fusion of language and culture in her work in an inspiring session on the power of poetry
