Get ready for a special event featuring renowned author and illustrator Dav Pilkey! The #1 global best-selling creator of Dog Man, Captain Underpants and Cat Kid Comic Club who has fired up the imaginations of millions of kids around the world, started creating comics as a young kid when he was made to sit out in the hallway for being disruptive in class.

Fast-forward to today and millions of copies of his books have been sold worldwide and even turned into films, musicals and TV series. Jump inside the worlds of your favourite Dav Pilkey book series in this fun-filled session featuring a visual presentation and live drawing by Dav Pilkey, plus trivia, special prizes, giveaways and more!

The event will be followed by a photo opportunity with Dav Pilkey. Attendees are encouraged to power up and dress up as Captain Underpants, Dog Man, Cat Kid, or your favourite Dav Pilkey book and join our Character Parade: details on page 54.

THE EVENT EXPERIENCE:

· This in-person event will feature a visual presentation and live drawing session featuring author and illustrator Dav Pilkey, plus trivia with special prizes! Dav’s presentation will run approximately 30 minutes long, then kids will have a chance to share their favourite Dog Man moment on the microphone, followed by more giveaways!

· The presentation in the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre will be followed by a photo opportunity with Dav Pilkey up on Level 5 of the Aotea Centre.

· In addition to the above, there will be some activity tables and a photo opportunity with the Dog Man costume character.

· There is likely to be a long queue for the photo opportunity, so we encourage that you bring snacks and water bottles, there are water refill stations around the venue, including on Level 5.

· Dav Pilkey’s books will be for sale at our bookstall on Level 5 with signed book plates.

· Due to time constraints Dav Pilkey is unable to sign books at the photo opportunity (pre-signed books will be available for sale), so please do not bring books from home to be signed. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

· Attendees are encouraged to power up and dress up as Dog Man, Cat Kid, or your favourite Dav Pilkey book character!
