Sonya Wilson is an award-winning author, essayist and journalist. Her two children’s adventure-fantasy novels, Spark Hunter and The Secret Green, have both won Storylines Notable Book Awards and appeared on multiple best-seller lists. Spark Hunter also won the NZSA Best First Book Award at the NZCYA Book Awards. Sonya is a former television news and current affairs reporter, producer and presenter. She has published essays, reviews and creative non-fiction in a variety of publications and still works occasionally as a freelance journalist. She is the founder and current Executive Director of Kiwi Christmas Books, a charity that gifts books to families across Aotearoa New Zealand who struggle to access quality literature for their kids.
