AI: Good or Bad, it’s Here to Stay

In just a few short years, we have gone from laughing at our iPhone’s poor autocorrect attempts to reading in awe as ChatGPT writes our essays. Whether you are excited or terrified for the future of artificial intelligence, there is no denying that AI will be a part of our everyday lives. So instead of debating the ethics of AI, what if instead we asked how we could harness its powers for social good?

Four scientists working with artificial intelligence to improve healthcare, sustainability and indigenous data sovereignty, discuss the ways AI can improve the world around us. From integrating Te Ao Māori into emerging technologies to managing biodiversity with machine learning, AI is more than just a dinner-table dispute on morality.

Hear from Dr Victor Anton (founder of a Wildlife.ai), Dr Elizabeth Broadbent and Dr Te Taka Keegan (Waikato-Maniapoto, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Whakaue) in conversation with the co-founder of AI for Good, Dr Michael Witbrock. AI enthusiasts and AI reluctants are all encouraged to come along!
