Historian and writer Brent Coutts received a Royal Society Te Apārangi Fellowship to research NZ soldiers’ experiences during the war. It culminated in the Ockham NZ Book Awards longlisted Crossing the Lines: The Story of Three Homosexual New Zealand Soldiers in World War II.
