Rachael King is the author of three books and was the programme director of WORD Christchurch for eight years. Her novel The Sound of Butterflies won Best First Book Award for Fiction at the 2007 Montana (now Ockham) Book Awards and has been translated into eight languages. Her junior fiction book Red Rocks won the Esther Glen Medal in 2013. Rachael's new novel is due to be published at the end of 2023.
