Master navigator Jack Thatcher has navigated waka, without instruments, across more than 35,000 nautical miles of the Pacific Ocean. Profiled in Jeff Evans’ Reawakened, he was former chief navigator of the Waka Tapu, the waka hourua that sailed from Aotearoa to Rapanui and back.
