Marianne Infante

Marianne is a multidisciplinary creative powerhouse. She’s a Kapampángan-Filipino actor, producer, and writer based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Infante has taken on the spotlight establishing many of Aotearoa’s “firsts”, she wrote and presented the first Filipino theatre play (“Pinay” at Basement Theatre in 2019), the first Kapampángan short-film (“Mekeni” with Someday Stories 2021) and is starring in TV soap Shortland Street being the first Filipino core cast member as “Nurse Madonna Diaz” from 2021 to now.

Out of the spotlight, Marianne continues to be a community leader. She is the Executive Creative Producer of Proudly Asian Theatre (PAT) empowering many Asian-NZ creatives to upskill, develop or unapologetically present their stories. She’s the Co-Founder/Director of Filipino led company Te & Kuya Collaborative (TKC), and she is a youth global union advocate for actors with the International Federation of Actors FIA FUTURE NOW and Equity NZ.
