Max Harris a barrister, writer, and campaigner. He is based at Thorndon Chambers, where he has appeared at all levels of the New Zealand courts, including on multiple occasions in the Supreme Court. He is author of the book The New Zealand Project and has published articles on contemporary politics in international and New Zealand outlets, including The Guardian and The New Zealand Herald. He is also a campaigner at ActionStation, and has led community-based campaigns on welfare and dental. He worked as an economic policy advisor in the United Kingdom, and has worked at the United Nations Development Programme in New York. He has previously chaired events at the Auckland Writers Festival and other festivals.
