Longlisted for the Ockham NZ Book Awards for his novel Down from Upland, Murdoch Stephens is founding editor of publishing collective Lawrence & Gibson Publishing. In a 2023 collaboration with Renters United the collective produced special editions of Murdoch’s novel Rat King Landlord which includes 15 original illustrations by NZ artists as well as additional resources for renters.
