Nadia Freeman is a poet, theatre maker and musician of Pākehā and Indo-Fijian heritage. Nadia is the winner of the Taite award for Outstanding Music Journalism in 2023 and was the poet in residence at Commonspace in 2021. She has been invited to write and produce several poetry shows including Eat These Words, Another Universe, Writing Home and the performance installation Poetry Bistro for a variety of festivals, including The New Zealand Writers Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Performance Arcade Wellington, Hidden Door Festival UK, and Kia Mau Festival. On June 8th, she will soon debut her new work Coolie: The Story of The Girmityas at Kia Mau Festival.
